Lake Travis ISD, TX

Beginning in 2013, district leaders at LTISD committed to pushing beyond high test scores, acting on a moral imperative to redefine learning for all students and educators throughout their community.

District Overview

Beginning in 2013, district leaders at LTISD committed to pushing beyond high test scores, acting on a moral imperative to redefine learning for all students and educators throughout their community. Such a large-scale change effort would require a wide array of professional learning experiences for stakeholders across the organization.

The ALP team was invited by an education strategist at Dell EMC, who had worked with Lake Travis leadership for two years prior to build the trust, awareness and organizational readiness to leverage these experiences. Since the beginning of our partnership, the professional and philosophical courage demonstrated by Lake Travis educators is, in our eyes, exemplary.

Profile for Innovative Educators

LTISD site administrators assertively committed to an innovative, data-driven approach to job-embedded professional learning, by no means the norm at the time of implementation. In partnership with a senior ALP consultant, LTCs partnered with selected teachers to pilot the Profile for Innovative Educators © (PIE), a platform-based tool designed to set individual goals and promote regular formative feedback from colleagues.
