About Zoe

Zoe is a robust and resilient leader with a strong ability to empower and build capacity in others.

Zoe’s teaching methods are most influenced by John Dewey, Reggio Emilia Methods, and Seymour Papert who are all strong proponents of teaching/learning through inquiry, exploration, making/doing, play, and real-world experiences. She is known for her creative classroom instruction methods which support an environment that encourages others to take risks, be creative and critical thinkers, be on-going learners, and accept mistakes as opportunities to grow. Zoe is most excited when given the opportunity to work on projects that have real-world connections and inspire community partnerships and social justice. Zoe blogs and tweets about social justice, community matters, 21st Century learning, and health & fitness. She is presently a full-time teacher for the Gifted Program at the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board in Ontario where she has received profiling of excellence award for innovation and creativity. Zoe is also the head writer and instructor of Junior Division Qualifications (Ontario) and eLearning K-12 Course at Brock University, Faculty of Education.
