District Overview
The Virginia Department of Education and its partners will lead an innovative, state-wide professional learning framework aligned to the critical competencies of the Profile of the Virginia Graduate.
From 2019 – 2021, the Virginia Department of Education will collaborate with the Virginia School Consortium for Learning, James Madison University, Ted Dintersmith, Scott McLeod, Kaleb Rashad and Advanced Learning Partnerships to support districts from all corners of the Commonwealth. Their mission: to develop and implement local innovations that align with the Profile of the Virginia Graduate.
Between March and January, ALP will support this partnership with regional, local and virtual coaching support for cohorts of 31 Districts in each of three consecutive years. They will personalize their coaching based on the innovations identified by each team and develop regional capacity to independently scale these efforts by 2021.
